TROY Introduces first HP based MICR MFP
Providing companies with the ability to save space and money

Costa Mesa, CA, - November 10, 2008: TROY Group, Inc., a worldwide leader in secure on-demand printing solutions, has introduced the first HP based MICR Secure multi-function printer (MFP).  The MICR MFP provides companies with the ability to securely print financial documents, while conserving space and saving money by eliminating the need for multiple devices.

Based on the popular HP LaserJet 3035 MFP; the TROY 3035 includes all the TROY recommended features to help secure check printing as well as important HP features that help protect confidential financial information. The TROY MICR 3035 Secure MFP provides customers 35 pages per minute printing, as well as copy, fax, scan to email, and scan to file functionality. The TROY 3035 is ideal for check printing and other office imaging applications in retail bank branches, corporate accounting departments, and any financial department where limited space requires a MFP device. 

For over five years companies have realized significant cost savings by switching to MFPs.  However, most banks, insurance companies and other financial institutions have not implemented MFPs in their operations due to perceived security risks. Specially designed to satisfy the security policies of financial institutions, the new TROY copy-block feature built into the MICR 3035 Secure MFP helps prevent duplicate check printing. Like all TROY MICR printers, the MFP also offers encryption, print audit, MICR toner sensing and 12 other important security features.  These features allow check printing to become a secure process, helping to protect against a full range of check fraud scenarios.  

The TROY MICR 3035 Secure  MFP also offers flexible authentication and authorization features from HP to help risk managers control device access, printing, scanning to email, and secure access to the management utility to prevent unauthorized device configuration changes. These functions integrate with an organization’s existing authentication rule as well as existing server-based Windows NTLM, LDAP, Kerberos, or Novell infrastructure.

“Over the past five years studies have shown that MFPs have effectively helped operations reduce printing costs with an average savings of 41%. The ongoing increase in energy costs and rising importance of green environmental policies is creating new demand for green technologies in business environments.  HP has introduced a new low-melt technology in their toner which requires less energy by reducing the fusing temperature.  TROY has followed suit, by developing a MICR toner which performs reliably with HP’s reduced fuser temperature utilizing less energy.

The TROY MICR 3035 Secure MFP can utilize a 6,500 print standard yield or a 13,000 print high yield patented TROY MICR Toner Secure Cartridge. All TROY MICR Toner cartridges and fonts are specifically designed for use in TROY MICR and HP LaserJet printers at standard HP fuser and printer settings, assuring printer reliability and long printer life.  TROY manufactures and controls all aspects of MICR Toner production, from raw materials to finished cartridges, in its ISO 9001:2000 registered facility.
